This is one of the craziest plays for a touchdown I have ever seen. I don't even know why they expected it to work. The team that completes the pass is Bethel (Kan.) College.

NORTH NEWTON, KAN. – Few will forget the last game of the 2009 season for Bethel College’s football team, and not just because the Threshers won 30-0 or the fact that it was Mike Moore’s last game as head coach.

Instead, the game will be remembered for a wild play that took place late in the third quarter.

With his team leading Sterling College 20-0, the coach tried a new offensive tactic. He put in senior defensive end Joel Maple, Umatilla, Fla., for an unusual touchdown play: quarterback Garrett Hiebert, junior from Goessel, made a no-look, over-the-shoulder throwback at the goal line to Maple, who caught it in the end zone for the score.

November 19, 2009, the Indiana Pacers v. the Detroit Pistons. A hard foul by Pacers' Ron Artest on Pistons' Ben Wallace resulted in a hard shove and a punch by Wallace. Which resulted in a two team melee on the court. Which resulted in a brawl between Pistons' fans, throwing punches, garbage and bottles, and Pacers players. And when it was over, Artest was suspended for the season. Now the fan who made the whole thing spin out of control (and was convicted of midemeanor assault) and Artest (now with the Lakers) have apparently apologized and are trying to make something good happen from it all.

That's the 1974 version with Burt Reynolds, No.1 football movie on Didinger-Macnow list and No. 7 of all sports movies. Don't even go there with that Adam Sandler remake. Adam Sandler's a waterboy for heaven's sake. Burt Reynolds was an outstanding football player at Florida State and he played the fictional former NFL QB now jailbird Paul Crewe to a T--or a shotgun, perhaps.
