Stafford and Sanchez are both on the hot seat. With that being said I know Stafford will have a better chance in Detroit than Sanchez in New York since the scrutiny by fans and the media will put a lot of pressure on Mark and they will expect Sanchez to deliver instant success. No one expects Stafford to pull the Lions from the basement because the Lions are a very bad team. Period. Any wins they get will be a positive towards next year and I will root for the Lions to do well even though I'm a Falcons fan. The Jets I could care less about but it will be interesting to watch both teams as they progress this season. Detroit wins 4 games minimum and Stafford throws for 20 TD's and 15 picks. Detroit will score. They just won't win much. Mark Sanchez and the Jets will win 8 games and Sanchez throws more picks than TD's because he isn't seasoned enough (he only started 16 college games!) and yet Jets fans think he will be their saviour. Kellen Clemens, Erik Ainge, Brett Ratliff and now Mark Sanchez. Good luck with that. (smiling) (O_O)

seriously, all I've heard is that he would have been the No. 1 pick in the draft NEXT year. He seems even less ready to start right now than Stafford does.

Exactly! Stafford will put up some numbers because he is the franchise QB. That's why they drafted him and are paying him all this money. I wouldn't be surprised if Sanchez has to fight just to crack the starting lineup with the other 3 quarterbacks he will compete against. His starting is not even close to being a guarantee since the Jets have QB's with experience in Clemens and Ratliff. The boy is in over his head. Who does Stafford have to compete with? Certainly not The Drews Brothers (Drew Stanton - in 2 years he played in 3 games with 0 starts) (Drew Henson - 2004 played in 7 games with 1 start - 2008 2 games with zero starts) Do you think they hired Stafford to play behind these guys? (laughing) Kitna? - Traded to Dallas. Orlovsky? - Signed with Houston. Culpepper - A proven veteran who will start but is injury prone and quite long in the tooth. Facts are facts ... Mathew Stafford is now the face of the Detroit Lions and all I can say is "Thank God!" Matt Millen is no longer part of the organization.

ouch we will see if this pays off or not but that is a hefty price for one draft pick
