Trojans running back Stafon Johnson opened a Tweet account so he could communicate with friends and fans while he's recovering from Monday night's emergency surgery to repair his larynx (voicebox) after he dropped a weight bar on his throat.

The Trojans 2nd-leading rusher and touchdown leader this season (5 TDs) underwent emergency surgery Monday night after being rushed to the hospital when he dropped a weight bar on his neck while doing bench presses. He is listed in 'critical but stable' condition. Johnson, who reportedly did have a spotter, was coughing up blood and could not speak immediately after the incident. Coach Pete Carroll said the weight bar "hit him with a lot of force" but as far as he knew there were no broken bones.

The score was tied 10-10 coming out of halftime, but USC punter Billy O'Malley let a high snap slip through his hands and into the Trojans end zone to give Ohio State the safety which the Buckeyes followed with a field goal. In the final minutes USC QB Matt Barkley led his team on an 86-yard drive to score a TD and two-point conversion.
