Red Wings Crush Penguins 5-0 in Stanley Cup Finals Game 5

Chris Osgood made 22 saves in his 15th career playoff shutout (he also picked up an assist on the Wings' second goal for his 5th career playoff point) as Detroit steamrolled Pittsburgh before their home crowd in game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals. The Penguins, who must now return home for game 6 with elimination at their backs, had absolutely no answer for the Wings scoring onslaught. Dan Cleary, Valtteri Filppula, Niklas Kronwall, Brian Rafalski, and Henrik Zetterberg all scored for Detroit. Zetterberg also added an assist and star Center Pavel Datsyuk helped out with 2 in his return from injury.

The Penguins' Talbot hits Detroit goalie Chris Osgood with his stick after the referee had already blown his whistle, aggravating several Wings players. Detroit star Zetterberg gets into it with Pens star Evgeni Malkin in what is probably the normally reserved Malkin's first real NHL fight. The Red Wings went on to win game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals 3-1, the exact same score that the Wings won by in game 1.

Not the best quality video but an awesome look at the Red Wings winning game 7 from the rafters in Joe Louis Arena against the Anaheim Ducks.
Red Wings won it in the 3rd period on a goal by Dan Cleary making the final score 4-3. Detroit heads to the conference finals for the 4rth time since 2002.
Detroit truly is "Hockytown" USA and Journey sounds awesome in any arena.

Red Wings Get Hosed On a No Goal Call With a Minute Left in Game 3

The Detroit Red Wings get robbed by a quick whistle yesterday in game 3 against the Ducks in Anaheim.
When a ref loses sight of the puck they are supposed to blow the whistle stopping play. Unfortunately for the Wings these plays are not reviewable by the replay referees. There was a big fight at the end of the game due to all of the frustration.
Detroit is now down 3-1 in the series.
