Memphis put those Jayhawks to work in a rematch of the 2008 national championship game. Memphis G Elliot Williams drained a 3-pointer to make it a one-point game with 16.7 seconds left on the clock, but he was unable to get another in at the buzzer to give the Jayhawks the W. Kansas coach Bill Self put it best, "Our offense stinks."

Doneal Mack and Antonio Anderson hit consecutive 3-pointers to help spark a decisive run by No. 5 Memphis in a 71-60 victory over UAB on Thursday night, clinching the Tigers' fourth consecutive Conference USA regular-season title.

But it was Mack, who scored 17 points, who might have had his strongest performance yet as a Tiger.

The Tigers (25-3, 13-0) won their 19th straight overall, the nation's longest winning streak, and 55th in a row in the conference.

Memphis trailed by a point before suddenly pulling away from its top league challenger with a 16-2 run. Memphis allowed only two field goals over the final 4 minutes while holding Robert Vaden, UAB's leading scorer, scoreless on 0-for-17 shooting.

Mack had 17 points for Memphis, while Anderson had 16 and Robert Dozier 15 points and 10 rebounds.

The Blazers (19-9, 9-4) handed the Tigers their last conference loss three years ago.
