Fantasy scouting report: Kevin Smith looked poised to be a strong contributor from Week 1 in 2008 until the Lions decided to sign former Bengals RB Rudi Johnson. By mid-season, Smith had left no doubt that he was the feature back in Detroit. He finished the season with 20 or more carries in 6 of the final 8 games. Smith should be able to build on his rookie season and continue to contribute in the passing game as his 39 catches can attest.
